CRF leads the industry in identifying opportunities to use the New Markets Tax Credit program to deliver low-cost capital to our lending partners and the small businesses they serve.
NMTC loans are similar to our Business and Community Facilities loans, except the borrowers must be located in eligible low-income census tracks. Both rural and urban areas can be eligible for NMTC loans.
NMTC Business Loans - These loans are intended to provide the financing to allow small business owners in low-income census tracts to expand their businesses. Loans may be used to purchase equipment and build, buy, or remodel buildings. An experienced management team can use CRF NMTC Business Loans to purchase an existing business. CRF NMTC Business Loans offer terms of up to 25 years, and loans can be secured by first or second liens on the collateral.
NMTC Community Facilities Loans – These loans are offered to nonprofit organizations that serve communities in low-income census tracts. The loans can be used to develop facilities such as charter schools, community recreational and arts centers, and clinics and more. CRF NMTC Community Facilities Loans offer terms of up to 25 years, and loans can be secured by first or second liens on the collateral.
