Giving Made Simple – How Sam’s Club Members Made a Difference for People in Need
In early 2010, Sam’s Club selected CRF USA as one of four finalists in the “Entrepreneurship” category for its first-ever Giving Made Simple online charity initiative. The Giving Made Simple program encouraged Sam’s Club members to vote once per day for their favorite of the four finalist charities, all of which focused their efforts on small business support services and financing. Finalists included Kiva, Accion USA, CFED, and CRF USA.
After a month of online voting, coupled with a single day of in-store voting, CRF USA placed second in the competition and received a $500,000 Sam’s Club grant to support its small business lending operations. The second-place finish is a testament to the positive impact CRF achieves in urban and rural communities throughout the United States.

Thanks to the grant, CRF USA is better able to leverage every dollar it raises through investments and additional grants, making it easier than ever for business owners in low- and middle-income neighborhoods to access the capital they need to grow their businesses, hire their neighbors and improve lives throughout the communities where they operate.
Check back often for updates on CRF USA’s work, made possible with the generous grant from Sam’s Club. |
